Beans Knees going green
Recently, we posted an article on the role that coffee plays in climate change. At Beans Knees we are very conscious of our impact on the environment and sustainability is very much at the front of our minds.
In August, we conducted a bottom-up detailed analysis of our operations and the CO2e emissions as a result of our organisation. We left no stone un-turned: freight, transportation, roastery energy consumption, waste disposal - you name it, we included it. A part of this analysis we identified areas where we could reduce our emissions and this formed a part of our emissions reduction strategy.
For our remaining emissions we purchased carbon offsets to offset these emissions and we are proud to announce that we are now a carbon neutral organisation. These offsets covered our emissions since our inception 18 months ago. We have now initiated the process to gain formal recognition of this status under the Australian Government backed scheme. The Beans Knees is going green and we're thoroughly pleased about it!
